Six Militants Killed in CTD Operation in Lower Dir

Peshawar:** Six militants were killed during a counterterrorism operation carried out by the Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) in the Lower Dir district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
According to CTD officials, the militants killed in the operation were involved in an attack on a police check post and the murder of police officer Muhammad Ismail.
Authorities said security forces recovered six Kalashnikov rifles and three hand grenades from the possession of the slain militants.
CTD officials added that search operations are continuing in the area to apprehend other suspects who managed to escape during the operation.
Meanwhile, Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi praised the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police and the CTD for the successful operation.
In a statement, Naqvi said the brave personnel had foiled the militants’ malicious intentions and demonstrated exceptional courage in the fight against terrorism. He added that the nation takes pride in the sacrifices and professionalism of the CTD and police forces.
The operation is part of ongoing efforts by law enforcement agencies to combat militancy and maintain security in the region.
