PM and Field Marshal’s Efforts Beyond Nobel Peace Prize Recognition, Says Rana Sanaullah

Islamabad (News Desk): Adviser to the Prime Minister Rana Sanaullah has said that Pakistan’s diplomatic efforts helped prevent a potential third world war and that the role played by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Field Marshal Asim Munir was “beyond the level of a Nobel Peace Prize.”

Speaking to journalists at Parliament House in Islamabad, Rana Sanaullah said Pakistan’s diplomatic initiatives had created hope for peace in the region through a possible understanding between Iran and the United States. He emphasized that efforts aimed at preventing a wider conflict were crucial for regional and global stability.

Responding to a question about whether Pakistan should receive a Nobel Peace Prize for its mediation efforts, he said that the decision rests with the Nobel Committee. However, he added that the contributions of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Field Marshal Asim Munir surpassed such recognition.

Rana Sanaullah stated that an end to hostilities would bring stability to the region and benefit the global economy. He said that the lifting of sanctions on Iran could help advance regional energy projects, including the Iran–Pakistan gas pipeline, which could contribute to easing Pakistan’s energy shortages and potentially reduce gas and fuel prices.

Discussing political developments, he said the federal government would provide full support for the upcoming elections in Azad Jammu and Kashmir and ensure that they are conducted in a free and fair manner. He added that attempts to obstruct the electoral process would not be allowed to succeed.

He further stressed that dialogue remains the best way to resolve political issues, noting that major problems can be addressed when political leaders engage in negotiations.

The Prime Minister’s adviser also revealed that the Prime Minister had extended a direct invitation to the opposition for talks for the fourth time and expressed optimism that a positive response would be received. Regarding reports of a federal cabinet reshuffle, he said such discussions remain speculative and that no decision has yet been announced by the Prime Minister. He added that any changes to the cabinet remain the Prime Minister’s prerogative.
