PM Shehbaz Sharif Thanks President Trump for Mediating India-Pakistan Ceasefire

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has expressed gratitude to U.S. President Donald Trump for his leadership and mediation efforts that led to a ceasefire agreement between Pakistan and India after days of escalating tensions.**

In a message posted on social media platform X (formerly Twitter), Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif stated:

Earlier, U.S. President Donald Trump posted on social media:
*“After prolonged efforts at mediation, I’m pleased to announce that India and Pakistan have agreed to a full and immediate ceasefire. I congratulate both nations for acting with common sense and wisdom.”*

### **Ceasefire Confirmed by Both Sides**

Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar also confirmed the ceasefire, stating that it was reached on Saturday, **May 10, at 4:30 PM (Pakistan time).**

In his own statement on X, Ishaq Dar said:
*“Pakistan has always strived for regional peace and security without compromising on its sovereignty and territorial integrity.”*

### **Indian Confirmation and Military Coordination**

Indian Foreign Secretary **Vikram Misri** also confirmed the ceasefire and provided further details.
He stated that at **3:35 PM**, Pakistan’s **Director General Military Operations (DGMO)** spoke directly with India’s DGMO.
Both sides agreed to enforce a **complete ceasefire on land, air, and sea, effective from 5:00 PM Indian Standard Time.**

A follow-up conversation between military officials from both nations has been scheduled for **12:00 PM on May 12 (IST)** to monitor and maintain the ceasefire.
