PPP Raises Objections to Punjab Budget, Calls Key Assembly Meeting

LAHORE: The Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) has raised objections to the Punjab budget and called an important meeting of its parliamentary party in the Punjab Assembly today to discuss its concerns.
PPP leader Ali Gilani said the party objects to the government’s failure to establish South Punjab as a separate province and the lack of compensation for farmers who have suffered losses.
He also criticized the allocation of funds in the budget, stating that the largest share has been earmarked for Lahore while other districts across Punjab are being neglected.
Gilani further remarked that the “Suthra Punjab” initiative has shown some improvement in urban areas, but rural regions continue to face serious sanitation and cleanliness problems.
