Violence Is Not the Solution to Balochistan’s Problems; Dialogue and Justice Are Essential, Says Hidayat Ur Rehman

Gwadar (Kudrat Daily) — Hidayat Ur Rehman Baloch, Emir of Jamaat-e-Islami Balochistan and Member of the Provincial Assembly, has expressed deep concern over the current situation in Balochistan, saying that insecurity is at its peak and the province is being pushed toward confrontation and violence.
Speaking during meetings with various delegations in Gwadar and Karachi, he said that instead of providing young people with education, employment, and development opportunities, circumstances have been created that are discrediting democracy and politics. As a result, many frustrated youths are being driven toward extreme paths, making the province’s challenges increasingly complex.
Hidayat Ur Rehman emphasized that armed struggle, violence, and the use of force cannot resolve Balochistan’s issues. He said that blocking highways, setting passenger and cargo vehicles on fire, restricting public movement, and creating an atmosphere of fear are actions that harm ordinary citizens, traders, laborers, and students while inflicting serious damage on the provincial economy.
He stated that Jamaat-e-Islami has always believed in peaceful, democratic, and political struggle, adding that the solution to Balochistan’s problems lies in dialogue, mutual understanding, justice, and the protection of public rights rather than violence.
The provincial leader also expressed concern that instead of establishing schools, colleges, universities, hospitals, and industrial projects, authorities have increased the number of checkpoints and police stations, which has negatively affected the province’s development process.
He urged the federal and provincial governments to focus on resolving Balochistan’s longstanding issues and creating greater educational and employment opportunities for young people.
Hidayat Ur Rehman further called for the immediate acceptance of the legitimate demands of government employees, teachers, doctors, and members of the Grand Alliance, urging the government to address their concerns through meaningful negotiations.
He reaffirmed Jamaat-e-Islami’s commitment to continuing its democratic struggle for the rights of Balochistan’s people, local ownership of resources, improved education and healthcare, and the provision of justice.
