Mohsin Naqvi Says Significant Progress Made in Talks with Iran

ISLAMABAD: Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi has said that significant progress has been made in talks with Iran, raising hopes for a path toward lasting peace in the region.

In a statement, Naqvi said the meeting in Iran discussed the restoration of the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding and steps toward finding a comprehensive solution to the ongoing conflict.

He said he and Field Marshal Asim Munir held a highly positive and productive meeting with the Iranian president, during which they discussed the Iran-US conflict and the overall situation in the Middle East in detail.

Naqvi said the meeting concluded in a very positive atmosphere, with the Iranian president openly presenting his government’s position and concerns.

The interior minister expressed hope that the significant progress achieved during the talks would help pave the way for lasting peace in the region.
