Australia and England Vie for Mike Hussey’s Services Ahead of Ashes

Australia and England are reportedly competing to secure the services of former Australian batter Mike Hussey ahead of the upcoming Ashes series.

According to media reports, new England head coach Stephen Fleming is keen to appoint Hussey as the team’s batting coach. Fleming has previously worked with Hussey in franchise cricket and wants to bring him into England’s coaching setup for the Ashes.

Australian media reported that Hussey confirmed last week that Fleming had contacted him regarding the role.

Cricket Australia has also approached Hussey and expressed interest in bringing him on board to help address problems in Australia’s batting lineup.

Cricket Australia reportedly wants to prevent Hussey from joining Ashes rivals England and is seeking to finalise an agreement with the former batter on an urgent basis.

The race for Hussey’s services has intensified as both teams prepare for the highly anticipated Ashes series.
