National Assembly Standing Committee on Interior Discusses “Anmol Pinky” Drug Case; Nabeel Gabol Raises Strong Questions

Islamabad (Qudrat News) — The National Assembly Standing Committee on Interior reviewed the case of alleged drug trafficker Anmol, also known as “Pinky,” during a recent meeting chaired by Raja Khurram Nawaz.
According to details shared in the session, the case was referred to the committee by the Speaker of the National Assembly, and reports were also sought from Punjab authorities. The chairperson stated that he had been advised by Raja Pervaiz Ashraf to close or dispose of the matter, although the committee later confirmed that no such naming was found in official records.
During the proceedings, MNA Nabeel Gabol raised serious concerns, saying the case was not minor and questioning who was allegedly pressuring the accused to implicate a former prime minister. He further stated that Anmol had allegedly been involved in drug trafficking for nearly 18 years and questioned why the case was weakened after a single video surfaced.
Gabol also raised questions about jurisdiction and custody, pointing out inconsistencies in the handling of the suspect, who was reportedly arrested in Lahore but presented in Karachi. He further mentioned a recent death in his constituency allegedly linked to heroin use, claiming evidence connected to Anmol was found on the victim.
Responding to concerns, Minister of State for Interior Talal Chaudhry stated that state institutions do not operate in such a manner, while Gabol referenced past cases involving Rana Sanaullah to argue his point.
Officials from the Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) also informed the committee that communication records related to the case are in the custody of cybercrime authorities, and that a case against Anmol was originally registered in 2019.
After discussion, the Standing Committee on Interior concluded the matter and disposed of the case.
