New CCTV Footage Emerges in Karachi Trader Mir Raza Murder Case

Karachi:Investigators have made fresh progress in the case of young businessman Mir Raza’s death after obtaining another CCTV recording showing his movements shortly before the incident.

According to investigators, the newly recovered footage appears to show Mir Raza taking his mobile phone out of his pocket and throwing it away before his death. The investigation team is conducting forensic and technical analysis of the video to determine its significance.

The initial medical report states that Mir Raza sustained a gunshot wound to the chest. However, investigators have yet to recover the firearm or the spent bullet casing.

Preliminary investigations also suggest that Mir Raza had outstanding debts with several individuals. Police are compiling a list of people from whom he allegedly borrowed money as part of the ongoing inquiry. So far, **12 individuals have been included in the investigation**, while statements from **15 people** have been recorded.

Earlier CCTV footage obtained by investigators showed Mir Raza leaving his shop near **Bahadurabad Chowrangi** around **3:30 a.m. on July 28**, carrying a security guard’s pistol that had been stored in a drawer.

He later returned home, where he left behind his car, smartwatch, house keys, and **Rs39,000** in cash before booking an online taxi. At **4:08 a.m.**, he departed for **Gulistan-e-Jauhar**.

Additional CCTV footage shows him arriving in Gulistan-e-Jauhar alone and walking through the area without anyone accompanying him. Investigators say he switched off his mobile phone near **Johar Mor Hilltop** at approximately **4:22 a.m.** before being dropped off in **Block 2, Gulistan-e-Jauhar**, at around **4:28 a.m.**

Authorities are continuing to investigate whether Mir Raza was murdered or died by suicide, with forensic evidence and witness statements expected to play a key role in determining the circumstances of his death.
