Punjab Government Launches Major Upgrade Program for Public Schools

MULTAN: Punjab Education Minister Rana Sikandar Hayat has announced that Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has launched a transformative program to upgrade public schools across the province.
During his visit to Multan, the minister inaugurated development projects at Government Aam Khas High School and said that the School Education Department has accelerated the construction of new classrooms and IT laboratories in government schools.
Punjab School Education Secretary Mudassar Riaz Malik also laid the foundation stone for the construction of additional classrooms during the visit.
Addressing the ceremony, Rana Sikandar Hayat said that 25,000 new classrooms are being built across Punjab at a cost of billions of rupees. He added that the construction of boundary walls, IT labs, and sports grounds remains a top priority of the government.
The minister stated that record development projects have been launched to provide students with modern and quality educational facilities. He further announced that the per-student subsidy for students enrolled in Punjab Education Foundation (PEF) schools has been doubled.
He emphasized that investment in the education sector would significantly improve the standard of public schools, adding that the goal of educational reforms is to ensure access to quality education for every child.
Rana Sikandar Hayat also highlighted that the Punjab government is paying special attention to improving educational infrastructure under its education-friendly policy. He concluded by reviewing the ongoing development projects and directing officials to ensure their completion within the stipulated timeframe.
