Alima Khan: No Meeting Between Nawaz Sharif and Imran Khan, His Detention is Tougher Than Ordinary People’s

Rawalpindi: Alima Khan, sister of PTI founder Imran Khan, has stated that there will be no meeting between Imran Khan and former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, emphasizing that Nawaz’s family doesn’t even inquire about him.
In a media interaction at the courthouse, Alima Khan expressed that their role is to spread the message of the PTI founder correctly. She criticized the current government, calling it a “thief government” without any authority, and even mentioned that former US President Donald Trump had spoken to Field Marshal.
Alima Khan also highlighted the harsh conditions her brother, Imran Khan, is facing in prison, describing his detention as being tougher than that of ordinary individuals. She pointed out that Khan is confined to a small, cell-like room, while Nawaz Sharif, during his time in prison, was allowed multiple meetings and even treated his jail as a “rest house.”
“Imran Khan’s imprisonment is far more difficult than the conditions Nawaz Sharif faced,” Alima Khan stated. “Imran’s books have been confiscated, and he’s been kept in harsh conditions, while Nawaz Sharif was receiving VIP treatment. Imran Khan cannot meet Nawaz Sharif; in fact, Nawaz’s own party doesn’t even care about him anymore.”
Further, she stressed that the PTI’s focus is on the rule of law and the release of Imran Khan. She claimed that the current government is sitting with an “illegitimate mandate” and that PTI leadership has already formulated a plan for a movement that will be announced after the 10th of Muharram.
Alima Khan also raised concerns over the fact that her brother’s personal doctors, Dr. Faisal and Dr. Asim Yousaf, have been denied access to him for the past ten months, despite repeated requests for medical check-ups.
Earlier, the court extended the interim bail of Alima Khan and Aalia Hamza until July 16 in connection with the Sadiqabad protest case. The Anti-Terrorism Court, under Judge Amjad Ali Shah, conducted the hearing and directed both parties’ lawyers to present their arguments on the next hearing date.
