India Defeats Pakistan to Reach U-18 Asia Cup Hockey Final

India defeated Pakistan 5-3 in the semi-final of the Under-18 Asia Cup Hockey Tournament in Japan, securing a place in the final.

The match began with India taking the lead in the 12th minute when Ashish Tani converted a penalty stroke. Pakistan responded in the second quarter as Adeel scored an impressive goal to level the contest, leaving the score tied 1-1 at halftime.

The pace of the game increased in the third quarter, with India regaining the lead. However, Pakistan quickly fought back, scoring two goals to move ahead 3-2.

Pakistan struggled to maintain its advantage in the fourth and final quarter as India’s Ashish Tani scored three consecutive goals. Tani finished the match with four goals, including a hat-trick, to lead India to victory.

India will now face host nation Japan in the final of the tournament, while Pakistan will take on Malaysia in the third-place playoff.

Despite the defeat, Pakistan’s U-18 squad impressed throughout the tournament. Notably, the players were participating in an international event for the first time in their careers.
