Is Cumin or Fenugreek Water Effective for Belly Fat Loss? Experts Explain the Reality

Islamabad (News Desk) — The trend of consuming cumin (zeera) and fenugreek (methi) seed water on an empty stomach in the morning to reduce belly fat is rapidly increasing.
Health experts say these drinks do not directly burn fat but may support weight loss by improving the body’s natural metabolic and digestive functions.
According to gastroenterology specialists, cumin water helps improve digestion, reduce bloating, and support metabolic activity. As a result, it may reduce abdominal discomfort and indirectly assist the body in utilizing fat more efficiently.
On the other hand, fenugreek seed water is believed to help control appetite, stabilize blood sugar levels, improve fat metabolism, and support gut health. These properties may indirectly contribute to weight management and reduction of belly fat.
Nutrition experts suggest that fenugreek water may be more beneficial for appetite control and blood sugar regulation, while cumin water is more effective for relieving bloating and digestive issues.
However, health professionals have cautioned that pregnant women, individuals with sensitive stomachs, and diabetic patients should consult a doctor before using such remedies regularly.
Experts emphasize that both cumin and fenugreek can only show meaningful benefits when combined with a balanced diet and regular physical activity, rather than being relied upon as standalone solutions for weight loss.
