Taking Photos During Hajj Was More Exhausting Than the Pilgrimage Itself, Says Wasim Akram

ISLAMABAD: Former Pakistan cricket captain and legendary fast bowler Wasim Akram has shared his experience of performing Hajj, stating that the pilgrimage itself was not difficult, but taking photographs with fans proved to be more tiring for him.

Wasim Akram performed Hajj this year alongside former captain Misbah-ul-Haq and renowned television presenter Fakhar-e-Alam. Pictures and videos of their pilgrimage also circulated widely on social media.

In a video shared on Instagram, Fakhar-e-Alam asked Wasim Akram about the challenges he faced during Hajj, particularly in relation to his diabetes condition. In response, Akram revealed that he carried frozen insulin with him, which remained effective for up to 24 hours.

He further said that Hajj was not difficult because it is performed with the spirit of worship, adding that every financially able Muslim should perform it at least once in their lifetime.

Wasim Akram mentioned that during prayers in Mina, many people approached him for photographs, which left him more exhausted than the pilgrimage itself.

The former captain described Hajj as the most beautiful experience of his life and said he offered special prayers for everyone during the sacred journey.
