Lawyers Boycott Courts in Quetta Over Chaman Phatak Suicide Blast

Quetta: A suicide blast near the railway track at Chaman Phatak in Quetta has led to a lawyers’ protest and a complete boycott of court proceedings across the city, according to reports.
The explosion severely affected nearby residential areas, damaging houses, a plaza, parked vehicles, and other property. Authorities said that the blast caused significant destruction in the surrounding vicinity.
According to initial reports, at least 14 people were killed and several others injured in the attack. Security forces and rescue teams immediately reached the site after the incident and shifted the injured to nearby hospitals for medical treatment.
Local residents strongly condemned the attack, stating that terrorists allegedly backed by hostile elements aim to destabilize peace in Balochistan. They described the targeting of civilians, workers, and commuters as a brutal and inhumane act intended to spread fear and disrupt public order.
Meanwhile, the Balochistan High Court Bar Association and the legal fraternity announced a complete boycott of court proceedings in protest against the incident, resulting in no appearances by lawyers in courts.
High Court Bar Association President Mir Attaullah Langove condemned the attack, calling the railway track explosion a highly reprehensible and inhuman act.
