Adil Bazai Criticizes Security Situation in Balochistan; Microphone Switched Off During Assembly Speech

QUETTA: Member of the National Assembly Adil Bazai strongly criticized the security situation in Balochistan during a speech, claiming that militants had blocked key highways leading to the province and that valuable vehicles were being set on fire.

Speaking on the floor of the assembly, Bazai alleged that members of the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) and the Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) had blocked roads connecting Balochistan with other parts of the country. He also claimed that vehicles worth millions of rupees were being torched amid the deteriorating law and order situation.

The lawmaker further criticized Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, saying that he had only arrived at the airport, attended a meeting, and then returned without addressing the province’s pressing security challenges.

During his speech, the Speaker interrupted Bazai and switched off his microphone after he mentioned Mohsin Naqvi’s name for the second time.

The incident drew attention in the assembly as Bazai continued to voice concerns over security, governance, and the government’s response to ongoing challenges in Balochistan.
