Iran Gas Pipeline Should Be Opened and Petroleum Trade Allowed: Hafiz Naeem

Islamabad (Qudrat Daily) — Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan chief Hafiz Naeem ur Rehman has said that the Iran gas pipeline should be opened immediately and petroleum trade between the two countries should be resumed.

Addressing a public gathering in Zhob, he said that the closure of the Chaman border should be resolved without delay, adding that despite the small population of Zhob district, many of its representatives sit in the assembly but fail to deliver for the public.

He criticized the ruling leadership, saying that those in power distribute positions within their own families and questioned how those who cannot practice democracy within their own parties could bring democracy to the country.

Hafiz Naeem further said that Jamaat-e-Islami represents the concerns of ordinary citizens, adding that heavy taxes are being imposed on petroleum products while decision-makers are unaware of ground realities such as fuel prices and taxation issues.

He remarked that the ruling system has failed to address public issues and called for an admission of failure from the government. He added that the entire system has deteriorated and requires fundamental change.
