Balochistan Government Revives 3,778 Closed Schools, Enrolls Over 717,000 Children

Mir Sarfraz Bugti has said that education reforms introduced by the provincial government have started producing positive results, with more than 717,000 children enrolled in government schools across the province during the last two years.

In a statement shared on social media platform X, the chief minister said the government had successfully reduced the school dropout rate by 5 percent, while student retention in schools increased by 11 percent. He described the figures as clear evidence of growing public trust in the government’s education policies.

Bugti said the restoration of inactive educational institutions was completed on a priority basis, under which 3,778 non-functional schools were reopened across the province. He added that the revival of these schools helped thousands of children return to classrooms and promoted educational activities in remote areas of Balochistan.

The chief minister emphasized that quality education is essential for ending backwardness, ensuring a brighter future for the younger generation, and achieving sustainable development in the province. He said the government is taking serious and practical measures to improve the education sector and provide equal learning opportunities to every child.

Bugti further stated that the government would not tolerate negligence, corruption, or poor performance in the education sector. He said an effective monitoring system had been introduced to improve teachers’ attendance, school functionality, and overall educational standards.

Reaffirming the government’s commitment, the chief minister said further reforms would be introduced to develop a modern education system aligned with contemporary requirements, enabling the youth of Balochistan to play a meaningful role in national development.
