Suspect Wanted in Quetta Female Doctor Acid Attack Case Killed in Police Encounter

QUETTA: A suspect wanted in connection with the acid attack on a female doctor in Quetta has been killed in a police encounter, according to police officials.

SHO Civil Lines Javad Haider said the man allegedly involved in the acid attack case was killed during an exchange of fire with police.

According to the SHO, law enforcement personnel were conducting an operation to apprehend the suspect when the encounter took place. During the exchange of gunfire, the wanted suspect was fatally shot.

Javad Haider stated that the deceased suspect was wanted in the case involving the acid attack on a female doctor and had been the subject of an ongoing police search.

Police officials said further legal proceedings are underway and that the incident is being investigated from multiple angles.

The development comes after a female postgraduate doctor was attacked with acid while on duty at a hospital in Quetta, an incident that sparked widespread condemnation and calls for the swift arrest of those responsible.
