Plans Announced for Cloud-High Skyscraper in Islamabad Featuring Aviation Complex and Luxury Facilities

Islamabad: A major development project has been proposed to construct a modern multi-storey aviation and commercial complex in the capital’s business hub, Blue Area, which is expected to become one of the tallest buildings in the city.
The project has been initiated by the Pakistan Airports Authority, aiming to centralize aviation-related services under one roof while also developing a multi-purpose commercial skyscraper. According to details, the complex will be built on approximately 9,000 square yards of land and will house the authority’s offices as well as headquarters of domestic and international airlines.
The design of the project includes luxury hotels, a modern museum, food courts, and various commercial outlets, making it a mixed-use development. The Capital Development Authority (Capital Development Authority) has already approved the building’s design, while a public hearing on environmental and other impact assessments is scheduled for May 18.
Officials stated that although the final height of the structure has not yet been disclosed, it is expected to surpass existing landmarks in the capital. Currently, the under-construction Garden Residential Apartments, standing at around 470 feet, is considered the tallest structure in Islamabad, followed by Centaurus Mall at approximately 335 feet.
Authorities believe the new skyscraper will significantly transform Islamabad’s skyline and boost commercial and aviation-related economic activity in the capital.
