Maulana Abdul Waseh Warns of Public Reaction If Killers Are Not Arrested, Urges Immediate Action in Cleric’s Murder Case

Quetta (Daily Qudrat Quetta) — Provincial Ameer of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (F), Senator Maulana Abdul Waseh, has said that the party has so far demonstrated patience, tolerance, and responsibility over recent developments, but warned that if the government fails to take the matter seriously and arrest the killers involved in the murder of a religious scholar, the responsibility for any public reaction will lie with the state.
In a statement, he said that JUI-F workers and social media activists are among the most civilized, well-mannered, educated, and disciplined political workers in the country. He added that the party promotes argument-based, rational, and ethical political communication and has always upheld traditions of tolerance and constructive political discourse.
He noted that in today’s digital age, where social media is often used for abuse, propaganda, and character assassination, JUI-F has instead established a structured and effective digital media platform to promote its narrative in a responsible manner.
Maulana Abdul Waseh said the party is also monitoring and evaluating the social media activities of its workers to ensure discipline and adherence to party ethics, adding that no individual would be allowed to violate the party’s principles.
He further stated that the party is actively engaged across all digital platforms, and its youth and media teams are working day and night to promote the party’s ideology and leadership messages.
He instructed social media workers to intensify publicity efforts for the upcoming grand public gathering scheduled for June 4 in Pishin, saying the event would be a historic demonstration of public support.
He described the gathering as more than a political rally, calling it a referendum on public rights, democratic struggle, and opposition to injustice in Balochistan.
Separately, Maulana Abdul Waseh visited Charsadda, where he offered condolences on the death of a prominent religious scholar and participated in prayers for the deceased.
He said the assassination of the scholar was a deeply painful tragedy and described it as a major loss not only for the family and religious institutions but also for the country, particularly Balochistan.
He also noted public protests demanding the arrest of the killers, saying it reflected the strong emotional attachment people have with religious scholars.
He alleged that a coordinated conspiracy was underway targeting prominent religious scholars and leaders of JUI-F, calling the situation alarming.
Maulana Abdul Waseh demanded the immediate arrest of the killers and urged the government to bring them to justice. He warned that although the party continues to show restraint, failure by the government to act would make it responsible for any public backlash. He reaffirmed that attacks against religious scholars and institutions would not be tolerated under any circumstances.
