Dead Turtle Found on Pasni Coast Raises Environmental Concerns

PASN I: A sea turtle was found dead in the coastal area of Jaddi near Pasni, marking the first such incident reported in the month of May.
According to local sources, several turtles have previously been found dead along different coastal areas of Gwadar and Pasni, while dozens of turtle deaths reported this year have raised serious concerns among environmentalists and marine life experts.
Experts expressed deep concern over the situation, saying that the continuous deaths of turtles along the coastal belt of Gwadar district are becoming a serious environmental issue.
They noted that turtles play a vital role in maintaining the marine ecosystem and that dead turtles are being discovered every month at various coastal locations.
Environmental experts said the coastal regions of Makran were once considered safe breeding and nesting grounds for sea turtles, but the increasing number of deaths in recent years is an alarming sign for marine biodiversity.
They urged national and international environmental and wildlife organizations to immediately investigate the causes behind the deaths of the turtles.
Experts warned that if timely measures are not taken, marine life in the region could suffer severe damage in the future.
