12 Killed, Several Injured in Accidents and Crime Incidents Across Balochistan

Quetta: At least 12 people were killed and several others injured in separate incidents of traffic accidents, firing, robbery, and street crime across various districts of Balochistan, including Kalat, Jhal Magsi, Nokundi, Bakhtiarabad, Panjgur, Dera Murad Jamali, Dera Allah Yar, and Usta Muhammad.
According to reports, a horrific collision between two cars occurred near Grani on the N-25 National Highway in Kalat. One of the vehicles caught fire after the crash, leaving one person burned to death and another injured. Rescue teams and police shifted the victims to DHQ Hospital while firefighters extinguished the blaze.
In another major incident, a passenger coach traveling from Kharan to Larkana met with an accident near Barija on the M-8 Highway in Jhal Magsi, killing eight people and injuring 18 others. Local residents carried out rescue efforts on a self-help basis, while the absence of ambulance services created difficulties during the operation.
Near Nokundi, a trailer overturned after crashing into a pile of debris lying in the middle of the National Highway at Tarasi Landhi, resulting in the death of the driver on the spot. Citizens blamed contractor negligence and demanded strict action from the National Highway Authority and local administration.
In Bakhtiarabad, a man identified as Allah Dino, son of Ghulam Fareed, was critically injured in firing by unidentified armed men and later succumbed to his injuries. Police said the incident appeared to be linked to personal enmity, and efforts were underway to arrest the suspects.
Meanwhile, in Panjgur, armed robbers stormed a diesel depot near Faiz Muhammad Chowk and opened fire after facing resistance, injuring Ataullah, son of Baz Muhammad. The robbers escaped with Rs200,000 in cash, while the injured man was shifted to Civil Hospital.
Separate incidents of firing, road accidents, robbery, and street crime were also reported in Dera Murad Jamali, Dera Allah Yar, and Usta Muhammad, where one person was killed and several others, including two women, were injured.
In Dera Murad Jamali, Hindu trader Pawan Kumar was allegedly robbed inside his shop in broad daylight, prompting strong protests from the trader community, which demanded the immediate arrest of the culprits.
Police said motorcycles, mobile phones, and cash were snatched from citizens in Usta Muhammad and Dera Allah Yar, while search operations for the suspects are ongoing.
