PDMA Issues Alert as Rain, Dust Storms and Strong Winds Expected Across Punjab

Islamabad: The Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) has issued a weather alert predicting strong winds, dust storms, and rainfall across several districts of Punjab from May 2 to May 4.
According to a PDMA spokesperson, rain and gusty winds are expected in multiple areas including Rawalpindi, Murree, the Galiyat region, Attock, Jhelum, Chakwal, Talagang, Gujranwala, Hafizabad, Wazirabad, Sargodha, Mianwali, Sheikhupura, Gujrat, Khushab, Mandi Bahauddin, Lahore, Sialkot, Narowal, Faisalabad, Jhang, Chiniot, Bhakkar, Layyah, Rajanpur, Noorpur Thal, and Dera Ghazi Khan.
The Director General of PDMA stated that, following instructions from the provincial government, all commissioners and deputy commissioners have been directed to remain on high alert and ensure preparedness for any emergency situation.
Citizens have been advised to avoid open areas during thunderstorms and lightning, and to stay in safe places. Farmers have been urged to take precautionary measures in light of the changing weather conditions, while tourists traveling to northern regions have been asked to exercise caution.
Authorities emphasized that timely precautions could help minimize risks associated with severe weather conditions.
