Milk, Yogurt Prices Increased in Rawalpindi Amid Dispute with Authorities

Rawalpindi: The Fresh Milk Association has announced an increase in the prices of milk and yogurt in Rawalpindi, triggering a dispute with the local administration.
According to the association, the price of milk has been raised by Rs30 per liter, bringing it from Rs220 to Rs250 per liter. Similarly, the price of yogurt has been increased by Rs40 per kilogram, from Rs240 to Rs280.
The association cited rising costs as the reason behind the hike, though no official approval has been mentioned.
Meanwhile, the district administration has rejected the increase, stating that the government-fixed price of milk remains Rs190 per liter. Officials emphasized that no new rates can be implemented without prior approval.
Authorities have warned that action may be taken against those violating officially notified prices.
