Sindh Govt Prioritizes Workers’ Rights on May Day: Sharjeel Memon

Karachi: On the occasion of International Workers’ Day, Sindh Senior Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon reaffirmed the provincial government’s commitment to protecting the rights and welfare of workers.
In his official message, Memon stated that the labor force forms the backbone of any society’s progress, emphasizing that sustainable development is not possible without ensuring the well-being of workers. He paid tribute to the sacrifices, struggles, and relentless efforts of laborers, calling it a collective responsibility to honor their contributions.
Referring to the historic legacy of the Haymarket affair, Memon said the sacrifices of Chicago’s martyrs paved the way for workers worldwide to organize and demand their rights, strengthening the global labor movement.
He added that the Pakistan Peoples Party and the Sindh government have consistently prioritized the welfare of workers and farmers. According to him, key initiatives include increasing the minimum wage, ensuring effective implementation of labor laws, and providing workers with healthcare and financial support.
Memon further highlighted technical training programs, employment opportunities, and special facilities for women workers as part of the government’s pro-labor policies. He concluded by reiterating the government’s resolve to empower workers and farmers in order to build a just and prosperous society.
