Pakistan Army Repels Infiltration Attempt in South Waziristan, Claims Retaliatory Action

ISLAMABAD: Security sources said that the Pakistan Army foiled an alleged infiltration attempt by militants in the Angoor Adda area of South Waziristan, while also carrying out retaliatory action following cross-border firing incidents.
According to security officials, militants attempted to cross into Pakistani territory but were repelled by security forces. Following the failed attempt, cross-border firing reportedly targeted a civilian settlement in the Zol Khail area of Angoor Adda, injuring three civilians, including two women. The injured were shifted to Wana Hospital for medical treatment.
Officials claimed that the Afghan side, identified in reports as the Afghan Taliban, targeted civilian areas after facing setbacks during the operation. In response, Pakistani security forces carried out retaliatory strikes, reportedly destroying multiple border posts across the frontier.
Security sources described the situation as a reaction to failed infiltration efforts, adding that investigations and monitoring of the border region are ongoing.
