Inquiry Launched into Alleged Irregularities in School Cluster Budgets in Makran Division

Gwadar: The Chief Minister Inspection Team (CMIT) has initiated a formal inquiry into alleged financial irregularities in the cluster budgets allocated to government schools in the Makran Division.
According to official sources, the investigation will cover the districts of Kech, Gwadar, and Panjgur, focusing on the utilization of funds during the fiscal years 2024–25 and 2025–26.
A formal directive has been issued to district education officers, requiring them to submit complete records within three days. These include lists of all high schools, names and contact details of cluster heads, and full information regarding budget allocations and spending authority.
The scope of the inquiry also includes a detailed review of procurement processes conducted by the Local Education Purchasing Committees (LEPC), including bidding procedures, supplied materials, and inspection reports. Additionally, authorities have sought documentation of approvals related to budget usage from relevant oversight bodies.
Officials stated that, to ensure transparency, the CMIT will record statements from cluster heads, head teachers, and district education officials through video conferencing. The objective is to identify individuals involved in any misuse of funds and ensure accountability.
The development marks a significant step by the Balochistan education authorities to address concerns over financial management and strengthen oversight mechanisms in the public education sector.
