Crude Oil Tanker Ban Lifted, Fuel Supply Restored to Attock Refinery

Attock — Authorities have lifted restrictions on the movement of crude oil tankers supplying Attock Refinery Limited, allowing fuel deliveries to resume and easing concerns over supply disruptions.

With the ban removed, the risk of fuel shortages in northern regions of Pakistan has significantly declined. Refinery officials have expressed optimism that production will restart soon as crude oil supply stabilizes.

Earlier, the suspension of tanker movement had raised fears of a potential shutdown of the refinery due to lack of crude oil. Officials had warned that if transport restrictions were not lifted promptly, operations could come to a halt.

A shutdown of the refinery was also expected to create a shortage of jet fuel, potentially impacting operations at Islamabad International Airport and Bacha Khan International Airport.

The restoration of tanker movement has now averted these risks, ensuring continuity in fuel supply and refinery operations.
