Iran Announces Full Opening of Strait of Hormuz for Commercial Shipping

Iran has announced that the Strait of Hormuz, a key global maritime passage, is being fully opened for commercial vessels following a ceasefire in Lebanon.

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi stated in an official announcement that the waterway will remain completely open for shipping during the remaining days of the ceasefire to ensure the continuity of global trade.

He added that safe maritime routes have already been identified for commercial vessels, which will help guarantee smooth and secure sea traffic through the region.

The Strait of Hormuz, one of the world’s most critical oil transit chokepoints, connects the Persian Gulf with open seas and plays a vital role in international energy and trade flows.

According to analysts, the decision is expected to ease regional tensions and bring greater stability to global oil markets and shipping activities.
