Three Coal Miners Die After Toxic Gas Leak in Machh Illegal Mine

Quetta: Three coal miners lost their lives due to toxic gas inhalation in a coal mine in the Machh area of Balochistan on Wednesday.

According to police, the incident occurred in the Bolan Lease area of Machh, where toxic gas suddenly accumulated inside the coal mine during work, causing the miners to suffocate.

The deceased were identified as Murad Bakhsh, Ali Hassan, and Dilawar Khan. Rescue teams retrieved their bodies from the mine and shifted them to a hospital, where formal procedures were completed before handing them over to their families.

Sources said that the mine where the incident took place was reportedly being operated illegally, and safety measures were not in place at the time of the accident.

Authorities have launched an inquiry into the incident, while concerns have once again been raised over unsafe and unregulated mining operations in the region.
