Balochistan CM Urges Artists to Showcase Province’s Positive Historical Identity Globally

Quetta: Mir Sarfaraz Bugti has urged artists to use their creative talents to highlight Balochistan’s rich cultural heritage and positive historical identity on the global stage.
During a meeting with a delegation of artist representatives, the provincial government decided to increase the Artist Welfare Endowment Fund to support artists’ well-being. It was agreed that the fund’s amount will be doubled in phases. Financial assistance for government-employed artists below grade 16 will continue through the fund to provide relief to deserving artists.
The Chief Minister emphasized that the government will continue to take concrete and practical measures for the welfare of the artist community, leaving no effort spared in their support. He said Balochistan’s cultural heritage reflects peace, tolerance, and love, and artists play a key role in promoting this positive image.
He encouraged artists to present Balochistan’s true and positive face to the world, demonstrating that the province stands for peace, culture, and harmony, not terrorism. Recalling the contributions of PTV Quetta Center artists, he noted how quality dramas have historically promoted Balochistan’s name nationally and internationally, and stressed that contemporary productions rooted in moral and cultural values can continue to enhance the province’s sustainable cultural identity.
The meeting was attended by Chief Secretary Balochistan Shakeel Qadir Khan, Secretary of Culture, and artist representatives. The Chief Minister reaffirmed that the provincial government will provide full support and patronage to artists working toward this goal.
