PTI Stages Protest Outside IHC Over Non-Fixation of Imran Khan’s Cases

CM Khyber Pakhtunkhwa says three judges ordered meeting, yet access still denied

Islamabad: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) lawmakers and workers held a protest outside the **Islamabad High Court (IHC)** on Thursday, expressing anger over the **non-fixation of cases related to party founder Imran Khan**.

According to *Express News*, several PTI parliamentarians joined the demonstration, chanting slogans for **Imran Khan’s release**.

**Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohaib Afridi** also arrived at the IHC and announced plans to **file a contempt of court petition** over being repeatedly denied permission to meet the incarcerated PTI founder, despite a decision by three judges allowing the meeting. The chief minister completed biometric verification in court for the petition.

During the protest, **Senator Falak Naz** was stopped by **Sub-Inspector Nasir** from entering the Chief Justice’s secretary’s office. A heated exchange ensued, with the senator insisting on her right to enter, warning the officer that she would summon him before a parliamentary committee.

Speaking to the media, CM Sohaib Afridi questioned why justice was being delayed.

> “All parliamentarians are here, yet the cases are not being fixed. The question is — why is justice not being done?” he asked.

He added that the **27th Constitutional Amendment draft** had not been shared with lawmakers, questioning whether even the government had seen it.

Afridi said he had met the current Chief Justice of IHC to request early hearings of PTI’s pending cases.

> “The Constitution gives me the right to peaceful protest,” he said. “Despite a court order, I was not allowed to meet the PTI founder. The courts should tell us who is pressuring them.”

He further stated that his government aimed to initiate **unprecedented development projects** in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

Meanwhile, despite a meeting between PTI leaders and the **Chief Justice’s secretary**, the party was still **not given a date** for Imran Khan’s case hearings.
