Chief Justice Emphasizes Judicial Reforms and Lawyers’ Welfare in Balochistan

Quetta (April 1, 2026): Chief Justice of Kamran Malakhel highlighted that improving the judicial system, ensuring lawyers’ welfare, and strengthening court security are top priorities for the judiciary in Balochistan. He made these remarks while addressing the inauguration ceremony of a newly renovated bar room at the Balochistan Bar Association in Quetta.

Paying tribute to the lawyers who lost their lives in the tragic August 8, 2016 incident at Civil Hospital Quetta, Chief Justice Malakhel said their sacrifices would be remembered forever and inscribed in the annals of legal history. He urged lawyers to uphold professionalism and dedication, emphasizing that a competent legal community is the foundation of a strong judicial system.

The Chief Justice further noted that a robust and respectful relationship between the bench and the bar is crucial for delivering justice effectively, citing his own decades-long experience of collaboration.

He also highlighted ongoing initiatives across the province, including the renovation of session courts, installation of modern security systems, transition to solar energy in courts, establishment of digital libraries, and specialized training programs for lawyers.

The event was also attended by Ataullah Lango, President of the Balochistan Bar Association, and other speakers, who lauded the judiciary’s ongoing reform efforts and commitment to enhancing legal infrastructure.
