Lahore Sessions Court Orders Misha Shafi to Pay Rs50 Million to Ali Zafar in Defamation Case

Islamabad: The Lahore Sessions Court has delivered its verdict in the defamation case filed by singer Ali Zafar against fellow singer Misha Shafi. Additional Sessions Judge Asif Hayat ruled that Misha Shafi must pay Rs50 million in damages and barred her from tweeting about harassment.

Ali Zafar had initially filed a claim for Rs1 billion, following allegations of sexual harassment made against him by Misha Shafi. The case saw statements from 20 witnesses and spanned 284 hearings, during which nine judges were transferred.

The arguments were presented by Ali Zafar’s lawyer Omar Tariq Gul and Misha Shafi’s counsel Saqib Jilani. The case, originally filed in 2018, has now concluded with the court ruling in favor of Ali Zafar.
