Pakistan Launches Major Diplomatic Initiative to Prevent Iran-US Conflict: Ishaq Dar

Islamabad: Ishaq Dar has announced a major diplomatic effort by Pakistan to prevent a potential conflict between Iran and the United States, revealing significant progress in peace efforts.

Speaking about a high-level four-nation meeting held in Islamabad, Dar said that foreign ministers from Saudi Arabia, Turkey, and Egypt participated in discussions aimed at de-escalating tensions and achieving a lasting ceasefire in the region.

Dar emphasized that the ongoing tensions serve no one’s interests and can only be resolved through dialogue and negotiations, as wars bring destruction and loss of life. He revealed that Pakistan has offered to host talks between Iran and the United States, an initiative that has received full support from Wang Yi and the United Nations Secretary-General.

According to Dar, both Iran and the United States have expressed confidence in Pakistan’s role as a neutral mediator, and Islamabad is expected to facilitate meaningful negotiations between the two sides in the coming days. He added that Pakistan remains in continuous contact with US leadership to help reduce tensions.

During the meeting, all participating foreign ministers agreed on the importance of unity within the Muslim world and stressed adherence to the principles of sovereignty, territorial integrity, and the United Nations Charter as the foundation for peace and stability.
