Bride Arrested for Aerial Firing at Wedding in Rawalpindi, Groom Escapes

Rawalpindi: Police in Rawalpindi have arrested a bride for allegedly engaging in aerial firing during her wedding ceremony, while the groom managed to flee the scene.

According to authorities, the incident occurred in the Mandrah police jurisdiction in the Gohra area, where the bride, identified as Sana Shehryar, was caught on video firing a pistol during the confirmed that the weapon used was unlicensed.

Officials stated that the bride, dressed in her wedding attire, was apprehended on the spot, while the groom escaped and is currently being pursued by law enforcement.

Police further revealed that the groom had allegedly handed the pistol to the bride, while a photographer reportedly directed her during the act. The bride attempted to flee but was stopped by a female constable at the scene.

A case has been registered at the Mandrah police station, and the weapon along with ammunition has been seized. Authorities said they had received prior intelligence about possible aerial firing at the event.

The suspect is expected to be presented before court, while her family has filed a bail application. Police say efforts are ongoing to arrest the groom and complete the investigation.
