Balochistan Launches Electric Bike Scheme for Youth with Government Subsidy

Quetta: The Government of Balochistan has introduced a new electric bike scheme aimed at empowering youth and women by providing affordable transportation and employment opportunities.

The initiative was launched under the vision of Mir Sarfraz Bugti, Chief Minister of Balochistan, as part of efforts to support young people amid rising fuel costs.

The move comes at a time when the ongoing conflict in the Middle East is affecting economies globally, including Pakistan, where sudden increases in petroleum prices have also pushed up the cost of everyday goods.

Scheme Details

Under the program, each electric bike has a total cost of Rs175,000.

The provincial government will provide a 30% subsidy (Rs52,500).

Applicants will pay an initial down payment of Rs17,500.

The remaining Rs105,000 will be financed through a bank loan.

Beneficiaries will pay a monthly installment of Rs4,773 for 24 months.

How to Apply

Applicants can apply through the official portal of the scheme by following these steps:

Visit the official website: www.ebike.balochistan.gov.pk

Enter personal information and select the relevant category.

Upload the required documents.

Submit the application for verification.

Successful candidates will be selected through a transparent digital balloting process.

Officials say the scheme is expected to make transportation more affordable while also helping youth and women access employment and educational opportunities more easily.
