Russia Becomes First Country to Send Humanitarian Aid to Iran Amid Regional Conflict

Islamabad: Russia has become the first country to send humanitarian assistance to Iran during the ongoing regional conflict.

According to international media reports, a Russian Ilyushin Il-76 cargo aircraft carrying more than 13 tons of medical supplies has arrived in Azerbaijan. The aid will be transported by trucks across the border and handed over to Iranian authorities.

The shipment includes emergency medical equipment, healthcare supplies, and medicines intended to provide urgent medical support to people affected by the recent escalation in the region.

Russia’s Ministry of Emergency Situations said the humanitarian mission was launched on the instructions of Vladimir Putin, President of Russia. The ministry stated that Russia would continue humanitarian efforts aimed at reducing the impact of the crisis in the region.

The development comes at a time of rising tensions in the Middle East, where confrontations involving United States, Israel, and Iran have led to reports of military operations and strikes in several areas.

Earlier, Donald Trump had said that Russia might be providing limited assistance to Iran, similar to the support the United States provides to Ukraine.
