Malala Yousafzai Expresses Deep Concern Over Iran, Gaza, and Afghanistan at UN Address

United Nations: Nobel laureate and activist Malala Yousafzai voiced profound concern over the situations in Iran, Gaza, and Afghanistan during her speech at the UN on International Women’s Day.

Malala said she feels sorrow for the families who could not safely send their daughters to school in Iran, for parents who buried their children under classroom rubble in Gaza, and for Afghan girls living under nearly five years of Taliban rule.

She highlighted that many children are suffering immensely due to war and violence, being injured or killed at the hands of unaccountable leaders.

Malala stressed that while much will be discussed about access to justice this week, true justice cannot defend children’s humanity in one place while ignoring it in another. “Justice cannot be applied selectively,” she emphasized.
