Eid-ul-Fitr Likely to Be Observed on March 21, 2026, Says Meteorological Department

Quetta: The Meteorological Department has issued an initial forecast regarding the sighting of the moon for Eid-ul-Fitr in Pakistan, stating that there is a strong possibility the festival will be observed on **Saturday, March 21, 2026**.

According to the forecast, preparations for Eid celebrations are already gaining momentum across the country.

Meanwhile, the Cabinet Division has also issued an official notification announcing public and optional holidays for the year 2026. As per the notification, there will be three public holidays on the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr from **March 21 to March 23, 2026**.

The government stated that the holiday schedule has been announced to allow citizens to celebrate the festival with joy and enthusiasm. However, the final announcement regarding the sighting of the Eid moon will be made by the **Ruet-e-Hilal Committee**.
