ATM Card Block Scam Gang Arrested in Lahore

Lahore: A gang involved in looting citizens at ATM machines by pretending their cards had been blocked has been arrested following a timely operation by the Safe City Authority and police.

According to reports, the incident took place at a private bank’s ATM in Faisal Town, where the suspects targeted a citizen using a fraudulent tactic. The accused first staged a failed transaction and, after observing the victim’s PIN code, swapped his ATM card. They later withdrew cash from his account and fled the scene.

The victim immediately contacted the emergency helpline 15 and informed Safe City authorities about the incident. A virtual patrolling officer traced the suspects using surveillance cameras installed across various locations in the city. The footage showed the accused traveling through different roads after committing the crime.

Due to swift action by Safe City officials and police, the suspects were arrested and a case has been registered against them.

A spokesperson for Safe City said that mobile phones, cash, and other digital devices were recovered from the suspects. The arrested individuals were also wanted by police in multiple cases of fraud and financial crimes.

Authorities have urged citizens to immediately report any suspicious activity to the emergency helpline 15 to help prevent such incidents.
