Balochistan Agriculture Minister Stresses Importance of Modernizing Agriculture for Provincial Development

Quetta:Provincial Minister for Agriculture and Cooperatives, Mir Ali Hassan Zehri, stated that agriculture is the backbone of the province’s development and prosperity, as most people in the province rely on agriculture for their livelihood. Modernizing the agriculture department is one of their top priorities, he emphasized during a departmental review briefing.

The meeting, which was attended by Agriculture and Cooperatives Secretary Noor Ahmad Parkani, along with Directors General (DGs) and other senior officials from the department, aimed to review the progress and performance of the department. Secretary Noor Ahmad Parkani briefed the provincial minister on the department’s overall performance and decisions made during the previous meetings, highlighting the importance of agriculture for the province’s economic growth. He noted that if agriculture flourishes, the province will also experience progress.

Each DG provided a detailed briefing on their respective sectors, discussing both the performance and challenges faced. Minister Ali Hassan Zehri highlighted the critical need for agricultural development, stating that for the province to achieve economic growth, the agriculture sector must be prioritized. He further emphasized that agriculture is directly or indirectly linked to every individual in the province, and its progress will directly impact the welfare of farmers, which in turn will benefit the entire province.

Minister Zehri reiterated the vision of President Asif Ali Zardari, which aligns with ensuring the development and prosperity of Balochistan. He mentioned that the President’s instructions are clear: any obstacles to the province’s progress must be removed to pave the way for development and prosperity.

The Provincial Minister concluded by stressing the need for collective efforts to modernize the agriculture sector in line with current demands. He emphasized that without concerted efforts from all stakeholders, the sector will not prosper. He urged everyone to work together to ensure that the fruits of their labor benefit every individual in the province.
