Election Commission of Pakistan Issues Notice to Shafiullah Jan, Grants Time Until March 26 to Submit Reply

Islamabad: The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has granted Shafiullah Jan time until March 26 to submit his response in a notice case against him.
According to reports, a five-member bench of the commission headed by the Chief Election Commissioner heard the matter regarding the notice issued to the Special Assistant to the Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Shafiullah Jan. Advocate Ali Bukhari appeared before the commission on his behalf.
During the hearing, Advocate Bukhari argued that the remarks attributed to Shafiullah Jan were not made intentionally. He urged the commission to review its notice.
The Chief Election Commissioner directed that all submissions be presented in writing as part of the formal reply. In response, the counsel stated that he would consult with his client and submit a written reply accordingly.
The Chief Election Commissioner further advised the counsel to obtain any required records or documents from the commission’s office and be prepared with arguments for the next hearing. Subsequently, the ECP adjourned the hearing until March 26, allowing time for the submission of a response.
It is pertinent to mention that Shafiullah Jan had alleged rigging in constituency NA-18 Haripur and claimed that Form 47 was issued from Islamabad.
