KP Police Thwart Multiple Attacks Across Peshawar, Khyber, Hangu, and Bannu

Peshawar:** The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa police successfully foiled several coordinated attacks on police stations and posts across Peshawar, Khyber, Hangu, and Bannu through timely and effective action, officials confirmed.

According to police sources, militants targeted police facilities in various areas of Khyber and Matani districts with hand grenades and firearms during the night between Friday and Saturday.

* In Peshawar’s Budh Ber area, a hand grenade was thrown at a police station along Mashu Gagar Road, injuring Head Constable Faisal.
* In Matani’s jurisdiction at PP Sara Khawra, another hand grenade attack left one civilian injured.
* In Bannu, firing from sniper rifles was reported near PP Kingar Pul in Mandan area and at the Domel check post on Kashu Pul. A 15-minute exchange of fire followed, forcing the attackers to flee.

**DPO Bannu Yasir Afridi** said an emergency was declared in Bannu city, with police deployed at all major roads and intersections. Meanwhile, in Bara, Khyber, unidentified individuals threw a hand grenade at the Takia police check post; no casualties were reported. Effective return fire by police drove the attackers away.

In Hangu, firing targeted a police check post at Qazi Talab, which was repelled by police action, forcing the militants to retreat.

Zulfiqar Hameed, Inspector General of Police Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, praised the bravery and professionalism of frontline officers, stating that the police force is always prepared to handle emergency situations. He wished a speedy recovery to the injured personnel and civilians, emphasizing that such cowardly attacks will not shake the resolve of the police.

Authorities confirmed that search-and-strike operations have been launched in all affected areas and security has been placed on high alert.
