FIA Seizes Smuggled Indian Medicines Worth Rs2.5 Million in Quetta, One Arrested

Quetta: The Anti-Corruption Circle of the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) in Quetta has recovered a large quantity of smuggled Indian-manufactured medicines worth approximately Rs2.5 million and arrested one suspect allegedly involved in the illegal trade.

Speaking at a press conference, Deputy Director Fazal ur Rehman Kakar said the FIA conducted a successful operation against the unlawful business of counterfeit and smuggled medicines. During the raid, the team arrested a suspect identified as Muhammad Waseem, son of Abdul Hakeem.

According to the official, a significant quantity of Indian-origin medicines was recovered from the suspect’s possession. The medicines appeared to be smuggled and unregistered, posing serious risks to public health.

Kakar stated that the estimated value of the seized medicines is around Rs2.5 million and warned that such products could have dangerous consequences for consumers.

The FIA has launched further investigations to trace other members of the network. Authorities reiterated their commitment to safeguarding public health and vowed strict legal action against all those involved in illegal pharmaceutical activities.
