JUI-F Leader Urges Govt to Open Pak-Iran Border for Cheap Fuel Supply

Quetta:** A senior leader of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI-F), Maulana Abdul Wasey, has called on the government to open the Pakistan-Iran border to facilitate the supply of cheaper fuel and provide immediate relief to the public amid rising inflation.
In a statement, the senator said that in extraordinary or “war-like” economic conditions, governments often relax regulations, and therefore Pakistan should allow fuel imports from Iran. He suggested that affordable fuel from Iran should not only benefit Balochistan but be extended across the country.
He further proposed that the government introduce immediate subsidies for public transport to ease the burden on citizens affected by soaring fuel prices.
Criticizing the recent hike in petroleum prices, Wasey said the government had effectively “dropped a petrol bomb” on the जनता, triggering a fresh wave of inflation. He added that rising petrol and diesel prices have made life increasingly difficult, impacting all sectors of the economy.
The JUI-F leader noted that higher fuel costs have significantly increased the prices of essential commodities, transportation, and daily expenses. He also highlighted the plight of farmers, who are already struggling due to flood damages, saying that expensive diesel has further worsened their situation.
He warned that rising public transport fares have become unbearable for the common man and stressed that without immediate and effective measures, economic hardships would intensify further.
