44% of Milk Vendors in Quetta Selling Adulterated Products, Reveals Survey

Quetta:A recent survey by the Balochistan Food Authority has revealed that 44% of milk vendors in Quetta are selling adulterated and substandard milk. The survey, conducted as part of a special campaign, tested milk samples from across the city and found that a significant percentage contained adulterants.

The Balochistan Food Authority’s week-long campaign involved laboratory analysis of milk samples, uncovering that 44% of the samples were contaminated. The majority of the cases involved the addition of powdered milk and water. In response, the authority has imposed substantial fines on vendors selling adulterated milk.

The authority has highlighted that adulteration often involves mixing powdered milk with water at home, making it challenging to conduct raids. However, the Balochistan Food Authority has assured that actions against adulteration will continue unabated.

In addition to the fines, the authority emphasized the collective responsibility to combat such unethical practices and ensure the quality of milk sold to the public.
