“After the Decision to Postpone the Long March, the Government Side Was Crying”: Junaid Akbar

ISLAMABAD (Qudrat Daily) — Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Khyber Pakhtunkhwa President Junaid Akbar has said that we will try that the long march does not go beyond October 4; however, we are empowered in our decisions regarding when and how to hold the march. Expressing his views on a private TV programme, he said that we will try that the long march does not go beyond October 4, but we are empowered in our decisions, and the PTI leadership will decide when and how we hold our long march.

The PTI leader said that regarding the long march, we called a meeting, consulted MNAs, consulted everyone, and also sought people’s opinions; the majority opinion was that the long march should be taken forward. Our objective is not to occupy Islamabad but the supremacy of the Constitution. We had to take Mahmood Khan Achakzai and Maulana Sahib into confidence; Achakzai Sahib was not initially in agreement, then he was persuaded.
The PTI KP President said that when our message reached the government even without us setting out for the march, then what was the purpose of us setting out? When our objective is being achieved without us setting out, then why should we set out? I do not take federal ministers seriously. If we were not prepared, then why did the federal government make so much preparation? Our objective was to force the government into dialogue; our aim was to cause them trouble, and the government side was crying after our decision.
