Seven-Year-Old Boy Drowns in Rainwater Pond in Quetta

A seven-year-old boy drowned after falling into a rainwater pond in the Master Colony area of Sariab in Quetta.

According to officials of the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA), the child, identified as Bismillah, son of Murad Khan, a resident of Faizabad’s Master Colony in Sariab, accidentally fell into a rainwater pond while playing.

Upon receiving information about the incident, the district administration and PDMA teams reached the site and launched a search operation. However, despite the passage of 12 hours, the child could not be located.

Rescue teams also used a boat to search the pond.

Director General PDMA, Jahanzeb Khan, who arrived at the scene, stated that the rainwater pond is very deep and filled with muddy water, creating difficulties in recovering the body. He added that the rescue operation will continue until the body is found.
